A new era at Sylvester Primary Academy

Sylvester Primary Academy has formally opened a new chapter in its history with Helen Brenchley now operating as Head of School.

This development follows the retirement of Ruth Harrison who served as Principal at the school for seven years.

Helen first started at Sylvester Primary Academy back in 2000, which means that at the beginning of this week, she celebrated 25 years of service to the school - what an incredible achievement!

In 2009, Helen assumed the position of Deputy Head at Sylvester after nine years of service.

Helen Brenchley, now Head of School at Sylvester Primary Academy, commented:

"I am delighted to have taken up the post of Head of School at Sylvester. It is an exciting time with new challenges.

"I am looking forward to leading the strategic direction of the school ensuring that, working in collaboration with colleagues, pupils receive the best possible educational experience and outcomes."

Helen will be supported in her duties by Ian Cooper, the Trust's Primary Executive Headteacher.

Ian has an exceptional track record in education and school leadership, and he will continue to serve as Principal at Whiston Willis Primary Academy, alongside his new responsibilities.

Juliet Brown, Director of Primary Education at Wade Deacon Trust, commented:

”On behalf of myself and colleagues at the Wade Deacon Trust, I would like to express my best wishes and support to Helen and Ian as they take on their new roles at Sylvester.

”Their leadership, vision and dedication to education matches our Trust’s shared Commitment to Excellence, and will no doubt encourage pupils at Sylvester to dream, believe and achieve.

”I wish Helen and Ian every success and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in what is a wonderful school community."

This is a new and exciting chapter in Sylvester's history, and we wish both Helen and Ian all the very best in their new roles.
