Wade Deacon High School pupils take full advantage of trip to Kenya
34 pupils at Wade Deacon High School have returned to school for the new academic year with a spring in their step having enjoyed the trip of a lifetime this summer.
Pupils at Wade Deacon High School spent three weeks in Kenya as part of an incredible expedition that none of them will ever forget.
Students helped build homes for local families, supported community projects, learned Swahili, trekked the stunning Mwalulu Hills and experienced an incredible safari in Tsavo East National Park where they observed elephants, giraffes and lions in their natural habitats.
They also set a new camp record by deworming 190 goats in a single day, making a positive impact on local farmers.
The expedition challenged pupils to step outside of their comfort zones, develop new skills and gain a deeper understanding of different cultures.
A huge thank you must go to everyone in the school community for making such an incredible and formative opportunity happen, giving pupils unforgettable memories and a renewed appreciation of the world around them, all thanks to this trip of a lifetime.
